Think of it this way: If you’re a vegetarian, you’ll still love all the recipes in this book. They’ll be even more delicious with the addition of a little protein.

The first step is to make sure you’re using a grill pan. It’s a small pan for grilling foods like steaks and burgers. If you can’t find a grill pan, you can use a regular pan, but you’ll need to oil it well and ensure it doesn’t have a non-stick coating.

To start, take the vegetables you plan to use and cut them into pieces about the same size as your steak. They don’t have to be perfect, but they should fit together well.

Then, place your vegetables on the grill pan and cover. If you’re using a pan, you can put the pan on the grill while the grill is on.

Just be careful not to burn yourself! Now you’re ready to cook. Place your steak in the center of the grill pan and cover. If you want to, you can flip it over after five minutes, but this isn’t necessary. The steak will be done in about 10 minutes. If you want to serve it with vegetables, you can do that now or wait until the steak is finished. Either way, it’s delicious! As a child, I remember my dad taking me fishing on the weekends.
