The crunch of the lettuce, chunk from the onion, and earthiness of the cilantro mixed with the flavor of paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic, cumin, oregano, and purple pepper contact my palate, developing holy matrimony of flavors with the fowl. Like machines, without announcing a word, we’re garlic sauce “Brothers-in-palms,” passing the bottle from side to side to each different after each chunk until there may be no greater sandwich left! Out of breath, I cave as I contemplate another sandwich. “Why not?” I say as I re-enlist my belly for every other excursion of obligation. It’s simply that precise.
